Coma

As young Bemy, Matricomalzine, or Coma for short, never really had any clear idea of what he wanted to be when he got older. All he did know was that he wanted to do something that could benefit the whole tribe. He knew that all the jobs helped the tribe in some way or another, but he just couldn't figure out which one in particular he wanted to do.

To try and help him figure out, Coma tried to help out with everyone, and to try out every job he could. Inbetween playing with the other pups, Coma would go from helping Icu with hiding to learning about hunting with Genn or Xaotl.

He quickly figured out what jobs he didn't like - hiding for example. It was just a whoe lot of mess, and the first time he tried it for himself he nearly threw up everywhere. It was a little harder for him to figure out what he did enjoy doing though. Or at least, what he enjoyed the best. He just knew that he especially enjoyed tracking, scouting and, when he got older, helping to look after the younger pups. Which of those he wanted to be, though, he could not yet decide. Aww well, time would tell what he was meant to be.

"Come on, Coma! This is an easy one to find." It was true. This was an easy trail to follow. Jake, who had decided to become a tracker at a reasonably young age, was helping Coma to try and find various objects that he had hidden around. He had already found most of the other items, Jake just wanted him to find one more. However, by this point, Coma was kinda getting bored.

"Do we have to? I already found five different things today." Coma could easily find the trails, and could follow them easily. But after too long, he just couldn't focus on it anymore. At first it was kind of fun, but after the thrill of finding your first object, the excitement just wore off.

Jake just laughed at him and shook his head, "You asked me to help you practice tracking, so thats what I'm doing. You can stop afterwards."

"Fine," Coma reluctantly replied, with a huge pout on his face, before he went back to to searching for the final item.

He managed to focus himself, and within a five or ten minuets, he managed to find it.

"Good job," Jake comended, gently shoving him and taking the dirty rag from Coma, "If you really applied yourself you could be pretty good at this."

"Thanks. But I don't really think I'm cut out for this... I just can't seem to keep myself focused on it," Coma shrugged in reply, "Thanks for helping me with it though Jake!"

As Coma got older, he realised that he found he was the most help when scouting. As a matren, the pups could twist him to their ways too easily, and as a traker he didn't have the best patiance when it came to following the trails. While, scouting and searching for the trails, however, he felt he could go on forever. As well as that, he felt most helpful while doing it. after all, if the scouts didn't do their jobs, the trackers couldn't track anything, and the hunters then couldn't hunt, meaning the tribe would go hungry.

As a result, he spent more and more time practicing with Aro, honing his skills as best he could. He hoped beyond hope that it would be the job he would be given, but for now he was content to train. He always made sure to make time for his friends, though, socialising with everyone and playing with the pups. He tried to make sure that he was an active part of the tribe, and to be the best support to everyone that he could.
